Take an in-depth look at the issue of poverty housing and the families it affects — and see what Habitat for Humanity is doing to address the need. This video was produced with two field staff on each shoot. The goal was to provide Habitat for Humanity with an introductory video touching on the large variety of work done by the non-profit while introducing families served by the organization. The piece has been used to raise millions of dollars globally and has nearly 20k views on youtube. The film “Habitat: What We Build” won a variety of Telly Awards in the top level silver category.

Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 500,000th house in Maai Mahiu, Kenya, and began construction on its 500,001st house in Paterson, N.J. on October 3,  2011. Volunteers and homeowners are joining Habitat for Humanity Kenya and Paterson Habitat for Humanity in celebrating the milestones as part of events being held worldwide to mark World Habitat Day. Iowa: Wake of the Flood

In June 2008, a flood devastated Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A year later more than 500 Habitat AmeriCorps members came together in Cedar Rapids for the annual Build-a-Thon, families featured in this piece qualified for new homes built during the event. This video was used as a promotional tool for the Build-a-Thon. Additional Producing and Videography provided by Jason Asteros.

Chris Mattle lead production from concept through script and final delivery. This piece was filmed over a three month period visiting nearly ten different countries. Our crew consisted of three with only two in the field for each shoot. The piece is available in three different languages and is used as an introduction to the Habitat for Humanity global capital campaign.
